Fashion Polaroids by Ellen von Unwerth Go Under the Stylish Hammer

The supermodels of the 90s were iconically captured by Ellen von Unwerth and now 20 of the photographer's Polaroids are being exhibited in Paris and London before going under the hammer at Phillips auction house.

A selection of Polaroids by famed fashion photographer Ellen von Unwerth are scheduled to go under the hammer at Phillips auction house on the 22nd of November. The 20 Polaroids, from the photographer's archives, will be unveiled for the first time in Phillips's Paris gallery from the 7th to the 11th of November before travelling to London for a public preview from the 16th to the 22nd of November. The photographs were taken during editorial assignments for fashion magazines including Vogue and The Face, as well as during advertising campaigns for Guess and Victoria's Secret. The curated collection features Polaroids taken between 1987 and 2005 with the majority of them taken in the 90s during the photographer's first decade of her illustrious career and during the heyday of the supermodel era. The images captured offer a backstage glimpse into some of her most iconic shoots and include supermodels Kate Moss, Claudia Schiffer, Karen Mulder and Nadja Auermann. If you are an admirer of fashion photography and iconic images of the 90s this is a wonderful opportunity, should you be in Paris or London, to take in the images, it's the next best thing to being able to bid on the Polaroids yourself.
