The NGV is celebrating the career of Paris-based Melbourne-born fashion designer Martin Grant with a retrospective that takes you front row to the designer's fashion shows.

The National Gallery of Victoria is putting the spotlight on one of Australia's talented designers, Martin Grant, for a fabulous fashion exhibition. Melbourne-born Grant has dressed some of the world's most stylish celebrities including Cate Blanchett, Naomi Campbell and Lee Radziwill, and now you can take a closer look at the designer's creations at the NGV where a retrospective of the Paris-based designer's work is being showcased. Taking you front row to Grant's couture designs, the exhibition is a fashionable playground where you can weave in and out of Grant's contemporary designs that include tailored suits and gorgeous ballgowns suspended on invisible mannequins creating a magical illusion of the dresses floating in mid-air. The retrospective brings together over 100 pieces including more than 40 loans from the designer's very own personal archive and private collections. The exhibition is a beautiful show to experience if you love fashion and are an admirer of craftsmanship and stylish nods to classic couture.
