Eat, Drink & Be Merry In Melbourne

This weekend we are eating, drinking and laughing with food and comedy festivals taking over the Australian city.

This Sunday the Melbourne Italian Festa is back and the all-day free event is where you can take part in what makes everything Italia so great. Live music, an aperitivo bar and food stalls are all on the menu as well as a masterclass hosted by 400 Gradi. The Art of Making Pasta masterclass will be showcasing the different pasta varieties from the different regions in Italy and sharing the tips and tricks on which sauces pair best.

The Melbourne International Comedy Festival has officially started and we are laughing our way around the city with shows taking place in various venues through to the 24th of April. This weekend though we are making a beeline at the Forum to watch Dilruk Jayasinha's stand-up show, Dil'icious.

To keep the fun level up on a high this weekend, we're reserving a table at Tokyo Tina for Saturday lunch where bingo and bottomless Aperol spritz are on the menu. Every Saturday, during two lunch sittings, the Japanese restaurant hosts Tina's Bingo Academy, serving up delicious food, bottomless booze and great fun with bingo hosted by the fabulous drag star Valerie Hex.

And for modern Australian cuisine we're treating ourselves to dinner at Cinder, the latest addition to The Terminus Hotel. The menu prides itself on its grilling prowess and includes Wagyu beef cooked over a wood-fire grill served with field mushroom, roasted carrots and drizzled with truffle, garlic and parsley butter, enough to make any mouth water.
