Dow's Pharmacy is welcoming the public through its vintage doors from Friday the 26th to Sunday the 28th of August for a wonderful moment of nostalgia. Located in Chiltern, just a few hours from Melbourne's CBD, the pharmacy is only one of a few authentic shops in Australia where time has stood still, taking you back to the nineteenth century with its original fittings and equipment still intact. Originally built in 1859, the pharmacy still has over 4000 original items on display, creating a time capsule, taking you back when instruments were used to prepare medicines before modern dispensing was introduced. This weekend also marks the annual Chiltern Antique Fair, so if you love antiquing then you must make time to pop into the Chiltern War Memorial Hall and Library where you can discover and perhaps get yours hands on rare fine china, porcelain, jewellery and artwork.
