Lunch at the Plaza

The only chic way to lunch in Paris is at the Plaza and we have discovered the new menu created by chef Jean Imbert for you to enjoy French fare in the hotel's iconic brasserie.

It is where Christian Dior and his models used to lunch and Le Relais Plaza, one of Paris's most famous brasseries, continues to sprinkle chic with every sitting. A listed historical monument of the city, Le Relais Plaza is dressed in Art Déco and style, elegantly taking pride of place on Avenue Montaigne alongside Chanel, Dior and Harry Winston. On the menu, created by the newly appointed chef Jean Imbert, diners are treated to the sophistication of French cuisine with a contemporary twist. Start with barbecued lettuce covered in parmesan cheese and crispy croutons, or order the tartine, a thick slice of brioche bread topped with creamy goat cheese, beetroot and leafy greens before trying the mushroom lasagna. When lunching or dining at a Plaza Athénée restaurant it is customary to leave room for dessert to sample pastry chef Angelo Musa's delightful pastries. Here at Le Relais Plaza the dessert not to miss is the hazelnut ice-cream cup, an egg-shaped cup filled with creamy hazelnut ice-cream, topped with hazelnut cream, praline chocolate sauce and covered with a thin, caramelised biscuit that you need to crack to uncover the decadent treat. Then with your after lunch coffee or after dinner digestif what is left to do is to admire the dining room and think of the dignitaries that were once hosted here before you, of which the adorable staff are more than happy to share the wonderful stories.
