Celebrating Yoga Day in Style

International Day of Yoga is on the 21st of June and to get us in the mood for the world zen day we're already preparing our outfit and booking ourselves in for much-needed calmness.

One of the most important things in working out, even when doing low intensity exercise, is being comfortable and supported in your activewear, especially in your sports bra, and that's why we love Triumph's Triaction Studio Sports Bra range. Adapted to yoga, the Triaction Zen Top is a crop top-style sports bra with crossover straps for minimum bust bounce, and made with breathable fabric, the bra promises to keep you dry even when you break a sweat while trying to hold your pose.

Sustainable French sportswear brand Circle has teamed up with yoga teacher Alexandra Rosenfeld and created a capsule collection dedicated to yogis. The collection is made up of yoga essentials including leggings, bra top, t-shirt, a water bottle and a non-slip yoga mat made with recycled cork, so you can hold your Warrior pose in confidence and with no fear of slipping.

To add colour to your calming day of yoga why not slip yourself into a pair of happy Oasis High-Waisted Capri leggings from Fabletics. The leggings are chafe-resistant and most importantly are designed with barely-there feel PureLuxe fabric that lets you move freely while trying to perfect every pose.

It's not always easy blocking out the world when trying to zone out and that's why our discovery of Morphée has been quite the gamechanger. The non-digital sleep and meditation device features over 200 guided meditation sessions held by a team of relaxation experts that let you choose a theme and the duration of your session to get you to relax. Opt for one of the 16 breathing sessions and see how your mind will enter a state of calm, preparing you for your yoga class where your only focus will be on your body's movements.

If you are a yogi and in Paris make sure you head straight to Mob House where the hotel will be hosting Silent Yoga from 7.30am to 8.30am on the 21st of June. Start the International Day of Yoga on the right foot with a sun salutation while you listen to the yoga teacher's instructions as they are whispered in your headphones with all other noise cancelled and blocked out. The hotel will make headphones available but make sure to bring your own yoga mat.

Extend the zenness of the International Day of Yoga and make your way to the rooftop of LSKD's headquarters in Queensland on the 25th of June where the activewear label will be hosting Rooftop Yoga, an event where you can salute the sun from high above. And after the class you can enjoy some retail therapy by heading downstairs to the retail space and stock up on the label's great sportswear.

For a real retreat in celebration of yoga day, book yourself in for the ultimate zen getaway. The Leisure Inn Pokolbin Hill in Hunter Valley has teamed up with Heavenly Hunter for International Day of Yoga and is offering guests 10% off yoga and meditation classes with guests choosing to partake in the classes in the privacy of their rooms or in Heavenly Hunter's studio that is conveniently located across the road from the hotel. Can you imagine anything more tranquil than practicing yoga in Australia's wine country?! Yoga by day, wine by night, sign us up!

If doing yoga means staying home and doing the Downward Dog from the comfort of your own living room then perhaps you might be interested in Movement Vitality Yoga & Mobility's virtual classes. The Brisbane yoga studio streams all its classes, something it offered even before lockdown, which means you can join any class from wherever you are in the world.
